Well this was a good story line, but there were parts that were a little confusing.

When a murder happens in St. Louis a retired detective steps back on the job when it seems there is more to the story. As we go on a bit further you become unsure because just as you think you know who did it.. there is new evidence that comes into play, and it takes you on a different path. It was more realistic in a sense because they did not have all the gadgets and gizmos we do today, to aid in an investigation such as this. I liked the fact it took place in a different time. While I enjoyed the story like I said there were a few parts that were confusing at first, but as more of the story unfolds it clears some of that up. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep you interested. I was left hanging at the end with a BIG cliffhanger, so hopefully there will maybe be a second to close out some of the loose ends. Overall yes maybe it needs a little work, but nothing that is horrible and it does not take from the story at all.

This is a murder mystery set in the 1800s in St. Louis. It stars a retired police officer who is pressed back into service to solve a strange murder of Doc Baker's wife. While dealing with the scene of the crime, loose floorboard were discovered, revealing three more bodies in the cavity, all women, all dressed in yellow.

Working on the solution to the crime takes Sgt. O'Hara and his confederates into the world of voodoo queens and kidnapping, and maybe even a serial murderer.

Lots of unexpected twists in the story, and an ending that was just right.
